2018 Annual Meeting May 3-6, 2018 JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa Palm Desert, CA USA The 844 attendees to APSA 2018 represented the spectrum of pediatric surgery career levels and practice environments. The overall theme of global diversities and health disparities in pediatric surgery received unique interpretations from the keynote presenters. Two hands-on courses were available this year, the Pediatric Ultrasound Course and Essentials of Surgical Critical Care Course. The meeting ended with the fourth annual Town Hall and discussion on the APSA Strategic Plan; the Children’s Surgery Verification Program; the APSA logo finalists and the issue of pediatric firearm injuries. Education Day, which focused on endocrine topics, followed by a systematic review of pilonidal disease and surgical management of undescended testes was well regarded, as were the scientific sessions.
